Agency Founder Roger Gray to continue as Chairman and CEO

BALTIMORE – GKV, one of the Mid-Atlantic’s largest independent marketing/advertising firms, today announced the promotion of Kevin Kempske to president and chief operating officer.

Kempske joined GKV in 1998 as a public relations account executive and became a partner in the agency in 2004. Over the last 19 years, he has served as the director of public relations, provided oversight for a variety of departments/disciplines and established grassroots outreach and branded mobile marketing unit capabilities within the agency. He has played an integral role in new business development, the development and fostering of the agency’s culture, and most recently provided oversight of the digital operations and social media disciplines. Kempske has worked with a wide range of clients in a variety of industries. Kempske has worked with local, regional and national brands and recently led the team that landed the role as social media agency of record for McCormick & Company.

Roger Gray will continue to serve as CEO, guiding the agency along with Kempske. Kempske will continue to serve on the agency’s Board of Directors and will chair a newly created Executive Committee comprised of the agency’s senior leadership.

Kempske completed the LEADERSHIP Baltimore County program and was recognized for his business and community leadership by the Baltimore Business Journal as one of their “Forty Under Forty” honorees. Kempske currently serves on the Regional Board for the Eastern Region of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and recently joined the Board of Directors of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Maryland Lacrosse. Kevin and his wife, Sandra, reside in Towson with their three sons.
