The education portion of the evening will be bookended by a happy hour.
A select number of copies of Greg’s latest book, The Agile Brand, will be raffled off after the panel portion of the evening. You may also purchase a copy as well.
All proceeds go toward the AAFB’s Scholarship Program, which awards unrestricted scholarships to students pursuing an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in marketing or advertising related fields.

Sharon Nevins, BSMG
Highly experience, results-driven, entrepreneurial marketing executive with extensive multi-disciplinary experience in sales management, marketing strategy and brand development. 25+ years experience with a unique blend of driving media sales teams to reach their goals, and providing marketing strategy to clients using omni -channel marketing solutions that drive business results.
Sharon began her career and spent her first decade in account services for a number of Baltimore’s best known advertising agencies. She then gravitated to the “client side,” where she worked as the chief marketing professional for a number of organizations before landing on the publishing side of the business where she currently manages a $40 million budget and a team of 30+.
Sharon graduated from the George Washington University, is fluent in Spanish and is an avid triathlete. Her two children landed in similar careers, one a public relations professional and the other a journalist. Sharon lives in Pikesville, Maryland with her husband.
Matt McDermott, idfive
As creative director at integrated advertising agency idfive, Matt McDermott applies educational principles to advertising strategy and tenets of the lean user experience and design thinking to the creative process. Much of his work over the last decade has focused on audience engagement and interactive storytelling. Over the course of his 20-year career, Matt has partnered with brands including Stanley Black & Decker, National Geographic, the Smithsonian, the United Way, Johns Hopkins University and the Maryland SPCA.
Billy Twigg, Alexander & Tom
Billy Twigg is the President of Alexander & Tom, a digital agency he founded in 1996. He has more than 20 years of experience on the leading edge of web communications and online marketing, and is a skilled consultant in using technology to support communication strategies. He is also a deeply experienced web development director having managed over 400 high-profile web projects in the last 20 years.
In the Baltimore-D.C. area he has completed major sites and online campaigns for Under Armour, Black & Decker, CareFirst, Fila Sports, Johns Hopkins, and the U.S. Treasury. And nationally he has worked on online efforts for Titleist Golf, Hunter Fans, Electronic Arts, Chase Bank, and the Nation of Bermuda. He and his team have been awarded Webby’s , American Marketing Association Awards, and dozens of Addy awards for their innovative web work.
Billy is a graduate of The University of Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University.
Ryan Smith, Planit
Ryan Smith is the Group Strategy Director at Planit, a Baltimore-based strategic, digitally minded brand agency. For more than 14 years he’s led some of Planit’s most complex and creative projects.
Subscribing to a content-first approach to marketing, Ryan’s cross-functional team oversees the entire customer journey which considers consumer needs through the whole sales funnel. From awareness to advocacy, Ryan develops content strategies that tap social, email, media, and other web tactics to deliver amazing (and award-winning) results.
Over the course of his tenure at Planit, he’s helped Rihanna break records for Universal Music Group, worked towards changing the global perception of McCormick, created award-winning youth education platforms for both the Kennedy Center and PBS Kids, and surpassed online revenue projections year-over-year for Mally Beauty.
